SCADA System for EHV Substation
Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA) enables remote control and data monitoring of substation equipment from a remote computer. On line viewing of all parameters like current , voltage, active power, reactive power, power factor at various voltage levels of the substation are possible in the HMI (Human Machine Interface). Alarms for all abnormal conditions in the power system are annunciated in the HMI and all such events are recorded. It is possible to check the status of all equipment in the substation by remote monitoring from the HMI. In addition to control of all motorised switchyard equipment from the substation HMI, the SCADA system also allows remote control from Network Control Center (NCC), which may be hundreds of Km away.
The SCADA system consists of microprocessor based Bay level control units (BCU), numerical Bay protection units (BPU), digital Multi-function meters, Ethernet switches, Remote terminal unit (RTU), network cables, Operator's work station, Engineering work station, printer, GPS time synchronisation system, SCADA software loaded in server, Gateway for interconnectivity with OPGW or PLCC communication system.
We have long experience in designing the above mentioned system for projects in India and abroad. Through our indepth knowledge it is possible for us to develop the following design and drawing activities for SCADA system :
- SCADA block diagram.
- SCADA function diagram.
- SCADA Input-Output list.
- Technical specification for each member of the SCADA system.
- Bill of material.
- Procurement assistance.
- Vendor drawing review.
- Inspection of SCADA equipment.
